Fictional Nintendo (or video game in general) Developers

That's pretty far down the line though. Still, I suppose its a bit crazy to expect you, especially in this early stage, to try to extrapolate that extensively on what Rare might/would produce without looking at the strong foundation of their already existing games. Wishful thinking vs. hopeful expectations I suppose.

Still, you have a watcher and highly interested veiwer of this thread! Know that what you're doing is appreciated and anticipated, and I'll try to keep my feedback constructive and not overly suggestive unless you want some input. Just remember: depth, rather than breath, is generally more engaging
Thanks. Just know that before I get back to Rare, I want to describe the Mario games of my fictional "Chief Studios." And a few IPs of theirs too.

OK. Now we are gong to talk about my fictional studio, Chief. And their games, the Super Mario INC series.

This series originally started as the Mario franchise's answer to Rare's DKC trilogy. However, they continued to diverge themselves with such differences as larger stories than most other Nintendo games, often akin to those of Narnia and Donald Duck comics. (Something that was able to be achieved due to Koizumi leading them instead of Miyamoto.) The games even have fully voice acted cinematics. With many voice actor voicing their characters in the mainline Mario games since.

All games in the series consist of the same basic gameplay formula. In most games, the playable roster consists of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, and Prince Cream. Peach's younger sibling who was initially created for the series. This series is also signifigant for the fact that with few exceptions, Bowser is almost never the main antagonist, even when he does appear. Typically, that role of main antagonist is assumed by Wart (portrayed as his uncle), or a new villain. Backstories for many Mario character are also revealed in the form of optional minigames played in the hubs worlds of each game, many of which reveal the "real names"of various Mario characters and how they go their nicknames. Akin to what Koizumi later did with Rosalina in Galaxy.

In addition, the voice cast is also consisting of popular vocie actors. With Charles Martient reprising his role as Mario. A * denotes an actor who is still alive in this ATL.
  • Mario Marichelli: Charles Martinet
  • Luigi Marichelli: Rob Paulsen
  • Princess Elizabeth Patricia "Peach" Toadstool: Jodi Benson
  • Toad: Wayne Allwine*
  • Princess Daisy Minnie Call: Kath Soucie
  • Prince Oliver Stanley "Cream" Toadstool: Various, initially Ben Diskin, but later other actors.
  • Yoshi: Jeff bennett
  • Birdo: Christine Cavanugh
  • Donkey Kong: Frank Welker
  • Toadette: Russi Taylor
  • Bowser: Jim Cummings
  • Tatanga: Mark Hamill
  • Wart: Tim Curry
Additionally, come Mario Odyssey, Henry Banks, who co-founded the studio with his wife Sally, suggested David Tennant for the role of Cappy.
The first three games in the trilogy were released on the Nintendo 64 in the 90s and early 2000s. Though the first two were proposed as 2D platformers in the vein of the DKC trilogy for the SNES. This can be seen in the handful of missions that involve a 2D platform area. It was during this period of SNES development that Cream was created. When Miyamoto requested that the team not use Yoshi to avoid confusing said game with Yoshi's Island. That said, Yoshi did get to be in the game in his traditional role as a mount for players. This time joined by Birdo and Donkey Kong. Among others created to be akin to the Animal Buddies of DKC.

In addition to the ridable buddies, Mario INC. is able to use various powerups from the series. Namely Fire Flowers and Ice Flowers (There are not super mushrooms here). All characters have their own individual abilities. Lastly, many of the characters have the same move as Mario did in Mario 64. Mario is all around, Luigi jumps higher, Peach can float down, Daisy can double jump in the air, Toad can run fastest, and Cream can roll into enemies. Playable characters are swapped out by the use of the L-shoulder button. Where a character is selected, as is an item.

It was discovered that the game would be too large for N64 cartridges. But Chief responded by insisting that they begin releasing the 64DD with bundles fo their game to make sales good. In addition, they also suggested making the 64DD Cd rom based ,rather than floppy disk based. This, combined with the eventaull success of the original Mario NC trilogy. Persuaded Nintendo to keep many games that moved to the N64 proper or the GCN in OTL to stay on the 64DD. Like Ocarina of Time, and it also led to the ability to make Super Mario 64 2.

PLEASE GIVE IDEAS FOR OTHER GAMES AND ELEMENTS OF THIS MARIO INC SERIES.

I also forgot the following VAs hired by Chief, or at least suggested by them....

Wario: Maurice LaMarche
Waluigi: Tom Kenny
Bowser Jr: Jessica DiCocco
Rosalina: Bonnie hunt
Lubba: Bill Faggerbakke
King Boo: Frank Welker
Cappy: David Tennant

That's a bit hard to do without knowing the plot/character developments in the early games (If the series is as story-heavy as you state) and what this "basic gameplay formula" is. Is it just a clone of DKC?

Additional Developers:

Midway

Founded: 1988
Joined Nintendo: 1992
Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States
Making many of the same IPs as in OTL. This company also made a series of spinoff Mario games starring Princess Peach.

Argonaut
Founded: 1982
Joined Nintendo: 1996
Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States
This is mostly the same except for bankruptcy. But in addition, their proposed 3D Yoshi games cancels out Yoshi's Story in OTL, and is made in 1998.

Not a fucking chance; they're too casual for that professional shit.

First, make Super Mario RPG into a continual series and then give it a Tactics spin-off, more investment in Advance Wars, N64 Classic controller for the WiiU leads to a Starcraft 2 port, some time down the line and then Nintendo says eh screw it let's try every strategy sub-genre and gets The Creative Assembly to develop Pikmin Nations.

Now, THIS is something that makes sense in this timeline, if we're talking about Rare and DK taking up the more platformer/arcade-y path and Mario becoming a more-story focused series (Nintendo could certainly do that as a first-party developer. JRPG's being a thing in their domestic market which they've always put a focus on).

Keystone Studios
Founded: 1994
Joined Nintendo: 1997
Location: Altoona, Pennsylvania, United States
Like Chief studios, the company received it's name as a homage to the Pennsylvania Railroad, who was a major employer in the town. This group joined Chief Studios and Midaw in producing the Mario INC series which expanded franchise lore. They mainly were best known for their platformer/shooter/RPG hybrid games however. Such as the Dobson Trackers. In 2016, Keystone was absorbed into Midway Studios, as part of the plan to consolidate all of Nintendo's western developers into individual companies. (CHief joined Retro Studios and Argonaut joined Rare).

I was actually thinking Rae would continue its diverse portfolio. While more-story focused Mario games are mostly done by western developers typically with the help of Yoshiaki Koizumi.

Is it just a clone of DKC?

On the contrary, it is a largely 3D game. Though its tag team gameplay format is based on DKC, and the method of swapping out player characters is like DK64. Lastly, there is also the ensemble of Yoshi, Birdo, DK, and new cast members based on the rideable buddies.

That said, this is mainly sort of a fusion of Mario 64, Mario World, DK64, and the Spyro series. Add it being a fictional inspiration of MLP:FiM, and you get this.
