Klopstokia from the WC Fields/Jack Okie movie "Million Dollar Legs" where all the men are named George and all the women Angela. The President (Fields) is chosen through an arm-wrestling contest and all the inhabitants are so fast that they send a track team to the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles.

And if we consider Rufus Firefly's Freedonia then we have to bring in Ambassador Trentino's Sylvania. Viaduck, why in Freedonia we have a Code and 2 pairs of Plans!

The Grand Budapest Hotel is set in the State of Zubrowka, which is basically a stand-in for post-WWI Austro-Hungarian lands, complete with an aggressive northern neighbour and their own home-grown fascist movement (the Double Zig-Zag).

They also have a pretty kicking coat of arms:

there's also DC Comics' Kasnia in the Balkans and 20th Century Fox's Val Verde, the setting of Predator and part of the background in Commando and Die Hard 2 (which, for one of my own projects, is the replacement for Panama). and let's not forget Ruritania.

The now-cancelled Little Orphan Annie comic strip had the nations of "Ratznestistan" and "Quagmiristan". It was a very conservative comic strip. Also, while not a thriller, there was the nation of "Genovia" in the Princess Diaries.

George Macdonald Fraser has the Duchy of Strackenz in Royal Flash, a tiny bit of Germany that Bismarck is determined shall not side with Denmark over Schleswig-Holstein, so there is some politics in among the shagging, cowardice, and farce - it's an homage to the Prisoner of Zenda, which gave Ruritania mentioned a couple of time above.

Of course there was Moldavia in Dynasty, with the whole royal family thing (IIRC the Dynasty actress who married into the Moldavian royal family in the story was in real life an ACTUAL Serbian princess).
