WI Gen Brereton's B17s of the FEAF based in the Philippines in Dec 1941 hadn't been wiped out on the ground, but had actually been able to strike Japanese targets in Formosa ? How much of a difference could've been made to the defence of the Philippines had there not ben bureaucratic infighting between Brereton and MacArthur's subordinates which basically grounded the American fighters and bombers at their airfields which made them sitting ducks for incoming Japanese air-raids and resulted in FEAF's virtual destruction (100+ planes destroted on the ground) for only 7 Jap planes lost ?
