This would be my take on FDR lasting a wee bit longer and seeing WWII through to its end. He knows that he's dying and is forced to realize that he has to bring his supposedly unremarkable VP from Missouri up to speed on what he's done.
I believe that in such a TL, the Cold War would have been greatly mitigated. Truman would have gotten a sense of Roosevelt's vision, the anti-Soviet hawks would have had to have waited longer to get Truman's ear and their influence would have been greatly reduced.
It seems to me that Germany would not have been divided, and the Soviet Union would have received greater reconstruction aid. I don't think that FDR would have really cared about Poland's elections, but there would have been a greater effort to keep up appearances in Eastern Europe, so a compromise of permanent Soviet bases in Poland would have been made in return for a more truly independent Polish government.
There would not have been a "Truman Doctrine" as Truman would have been more understanding of Soviet pressures on Turkey and a recognition that Stalin was honouring his promises to Churchill in Greece.
There would still have been a Yugoslavia. Stalin would have continued to turn arms over to Mao, but the Chinese Civil War might have dragged on longer as the two super-powers tried to force compromises on the KMT and the Communists. Given these circumstances, I'm not sure what would have happened in Korea.
(I looked for other Cold War threads for inspiration, but my computer zonked out after a long attempt at a search.)
