FDR dies, Wallace becomes president

One thing to keep in mind is that with Wallace in charge, the mid-term elections of 1946 are going to be even worse than OTL for the Democrats. In OTL, Truman's approval rating dropped to 38% and the GOP retook the House and the Senate. Now in TTL, I'd wager that Wallace's approval rating would be even lower, leading to the GOP taking a few more House seats and dominating a number of Senate contests that were close in OTL.

I could see the GOP winning (in addition to what they won in OTL): Maryland, New Mexico, Rhode Island, West Virginia, and Wyoming, giving them 56 seats to the Democrat 40 (as opposed to the otl result of 51 and 45 respectively).

This is going to severely curtail what Wallace can do in the last 2 years of his presidency.
