FDBWI: Going To See The Beatles Tomorrow

THAT WAS YOU? BWAHA HA HA HA OMG that is awsome! And just what I was thinking at the time, too....:D

<OOC>By the way, I'm starting to read your "Life's Last Stand" right now. I love the odd bit of Terminator fic now and again!</OOC>

Yeah, I felt it was appropriate, I wasn't in the mood to hear his opinions after I had already heard them plastered all over the news. They are still great live though, like how they did three encores that show! That was amazing!

OCC: Thanks man, I probably should update it; my big problem is I have little to zero follow through so I get lots of ideas but can never finish them

So The Beatles are cool again huh?
I remember just 5 years ago you'd be laughed out of a record shop for daring to even look at Beatles stuff.

These old time bands just really annoy me so much. Every time they release a new record they claim its their best ever when generally its just generic tat designed to keep their private jets fueled.

Oh come now. The Fabs have aged much better than, say, the Stones. And we won't even talk about Devo - blech!

Another classic band that has managed to keep cranking out the quality long past their hayday is Duran Duran. Their last album Far Side of Heaven - said to be inspired, as I recall, by the Beatles' Dorothy and Alice soundtrack - even managed to keep Jay-Z's most recent effort from going No. 1!

Oh crap. I just read The Catcher in the Rye and now I must kill John Lennon.

Just kidding, y'all. No existential crisis here. I think everyone agrees that their old stuff is much better than anything recent. But maybe it would be better for music as a whole if we let old dogs go, you know? Nostalgia is good, but they're getting old. If they're not okay with the old "Live and Let Die" anymore, than I think we can all get over them.

Rocket 96

I'm a huge fan of the fabs and I still hope to catch them in Glasgow next year, but the best 'dinosaur' band I've seen were Brian Jones' rocket96 with Hendrix on lead, Ginger Baker on drums and Paul Jones fronting the band. They might be getting on a bit but they now how to cook up a thick stew of blues.
