Fate of Tristan da Cunha after nuclear war in northern hemisphere

What would be the fate of tristan da cunha if there was nuclear war in the northern hemisphere between usa and ussr?

If it's before 1963, they will either be wiped out by the volcano or there won't be anyone on the island due to the eruption (1961-1963).

Assuming its not an eruption year, society would collapse quickly as it relies so much on England.

They should presumably be able to carry on, in some form; they grow potatoes there, and fish can be caught. That assumes the radiation doesn't spread south, a la On The Beach, and the volcano could finish them off if it erupts again; but otherwise, people found a way to eat and survive before civilization, and they could do it again.

fallout would spread to the southern hemisphere too, first it would spread in the north, but sooner or later it would come south too, plus that there will be a few nuclear strikes in the south too (probably Aus + SA)
