Soon after her second husband's death, plans for a new marriage for Richeza began. Frederick Barbarossa made an expedition against Aragon on 1180 to aid his ally Raymond V but this time Alfonso the Chaste asked the King of England, Henry II to help him in his war with Barbarossa, in this time France cannot do anything against the Aragonese and England due to France being under regency at that time and cannot intervene against the English and Aragonese forces but the forces of the Holy Roman Empire was able to win the war against the English and installed the rule of Raymond V of Toulouse to the County of Provence and Raymond V confiscated the Aragonese lands in Toulouse like Gevaudan.

The first child of Raymond of Toulouse and Douce II of Provence is Alphonse born on 1182, another son named Raymond was born on 1183, Raymond of Toulouse asked to Frederick of Barbarossa to give the lands of Matilda of Canossa to them since they have a claim to the titles of Matilda of Canossa due to fact that they are descended from her heir, however, he refused.


Frederick of Barbarossa woke up on June 11 1190, his troops were very organized thanks to him being a really good leader, he was a very successful military strategist and a soldier and for that reason he was able to defeat the Turks and make them stay away from the Kingdom of Jerusalem, however Frederick Barbarossa is not able to completely defeat them but he was able to keep them at bay, Barbarossa was happy about his accomplishments in the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Frederick Barbarossa was able to return to his land in the Holy Roman Empire.
