Fashoda Incident Escalates

I can't spell escalates, I don't think...

But anyway, what if the Fashoda Incident of 1898 had led to a full blown war between Britain and France. I was just surfing wikipedia before like a cool kid, and happened to stumble upon it, though quite frankly I have really no idea about what it was apart from rival imperial claims on the Upper Nile... Any thoughts?

The Royal Navy quickly sinks the French Navy, leaving the more powerful French Army unable to do the British much harm. Doubt the conflict would last very long, frankly.

Diplomatically, the British and Germans are pushed closer together, probably signing a genuine alliance. World War I is thus butterflied away.

Given La ligne bleu des vosges, the french governmant will avoid alienating Uk at any cost. So, for fashoda to possibly escalate, you need a PoD in 1871 at the latest and a different traty of Frankfuhrt.
