Fallout History: Year 3000

People and Places of Post Great-War North America: 2077-2500. Copyright: 3000. NCR Central Publishing, the Boneyard, NCR.

House, Robert (2020-2452): Robert House was a famous Pre-War robotics and computer entrepeneur, founder of the Pre-War company "Robco" and in a merger with "Vault-Tec" became one of the most influential men in America.

In the Great War, his use of weapons technology helped save the city of Las Vegas from the Nuclear Fire. In the centuries thereafter he would search from inside his life-support system, with the help of lieutenants for a "Platinum Chip", whose very power and use was demonstrated against the forces of Ceasar's Legion in the Second Battle of Hoover Dam in 2281.

After excersizing his military strength in a bold move against NCR forces under General Lee Oliver, forcing him to retreat from the Mojave region, House and his Economic Free-Zone of New Vegas became an economic beacon, attracting settlers and tourists. Laws in the Mojave became rather Libertarian, and any uprisings were swiftly quelled by the use of his MkII Securitrons. He remained a charismatic man and under his autocratic rule, a revitalized vision of pre-War Las Vegas emerged. The city's Pre-War tram system became operational again, and the Strip's suburbs of Freeside and Westside became the centers of an urban revitalization. Freeside, would gain it's own unique identity out of the old city, thanks to the local leader "The King", a cultural renaissance emerged circulating around the pre-War singer, Elvis Presley. Thanks to House, a technological renaissance occured in the city, making Vegas an ever popular destination.

House's relations with the NCR became lukewarm, he remained defiant militarily from the NCR until the day he died. But was always welcome to NCR tourists for income, and selling water to the NCR populace from the Hoover Dam.

In 2452, after nearly four centuries in his tube, his body had finally succumbed to an unknown form of degenerative disease. He had completed the first extra-planetary colony five years earlier on the surface of the Moon and completion of his own orbital laser platform, much larger and powerful than his old Archimedes II. And in the coming years, Vegas would once again find tension with the New California Republic....

<OT: For the sake of the topic, we are going to assume that the Fallout 3 ending is the "good ending", you can choose what side characters did what. For New Vegas, it's the House ending. And for Tactics, the Barnaky ending that are canon.>

The Burned Man: The legend of this mythical figure existed in the territory of Caesar's Legion between roughly the years of 2277 and 2300.

The Dead Horse tribe of southern Utah, claim that this "Burned Man" was their tribal warchief between 2277 and 2290, the Sorrows tribe of Zion Valley also claim to have had contact with him during this period.

Modern theories point that this "Burned Man" was none other than the first Caesar, Edward Sallow's, first Malpais Legate, the New Caananite Joshua Graham.

Scant historical sources from the Legion claim that between 2247 and 2277 this Joshua Graham had extensive involvement with the Legion, and was claimed as being killed several times by NCR snipers during the First Battle of Hoover Dam.

Local legend claims that after the Legion's loss at Hoover Dam, Sallow had Graham lit afire and cast into the Grand Canyon, a region known for it's radiation and cannibals.

When the Legion's proxies, the White Legs, invaded Zion Valley in 2281. The White Legs only known survivor, their own warchief "Salt-Upon-Wounds" spoke of this Graham-Burned Man and a nameless lieutenant who united both Dead Horse and Sorrows tribes briefly to repel and destroy the White Legs.

Graham was described as a polite, if not marshal, man. One source of him, his fellow Mormon missionary, Daniel, also a New Canaanite, described him as militant after Caesar's ordered burning and salting of New Canaan in the Salt Lake region.

After the Zion Valley affair, Daniel claims that Graham went on to Dead Horse Point, with his tribe. Daniel would go along with the Sorrows in safe regions of southern Utah and keep on the move away from the Legion.

After around 2290, the LDS church claims that Graham's missionary work had been completed and he refocused and protecting his fellow New Canaanites from the Legion. Graham was reported to have died around either 2298-2305, but legends of him would circulate among the Legion's slaves and non-Legion assimilated tribes of Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico as a nearly messianic figure.

Simon Barnaky (b. circa. 2130-2150)

Simon Barnaky was present at the legendary Vault Dweller's contact and induction into the Brotherhood of Steel in pre-NCR California.

In the decades following the destruction and flight of the Master's army, Barnaky held differing opinions with the BoS' main hierarchy in the Core Region. The primary issue, was the inclusion of mutations into the Brotherhood of Steel.

With that, Barnaky led a Brotherhood splinter-group East, across the Rockies to forge a new movement outside of the California BoS. The excursion came upon and set up operations outside of the ruins of the pre-War city of Chicago. One of the up-and-coming members of the group, only known in legend and folklore today as "the Warrior" became a heroic figure for his cause. Clearing the regions of the former Midwestern United States of raiders and Gammorin's remnant of the Master's supermutant army. The Warrior, while allowing mutations to join the ranks, became a controversial figure.

Barnaky's BoS would continue to draft tribals, recruiting these tribals as tribute for bringing order and protection to the region and set up outposts out of former raider and Gammorin strongholds from the former US states of Illinois to Colorado. Despite his disagreements with the Warrior, he briefly allowed mutations to join the BoS as a means to an end.

With the emergence of the Calculator's robotic forces bringing a threat to the wasteland in it's quest for human extermination, forced the Mariposa mutants into the same corner as the Brotherhood, and captured Barnaky by intercepting him from Gammorin's army. The BoS commander, Dekker, was briefly put in charge at this time.

After days of torture, his brain was placed into a robotic body, and nearly assimilated into the Calculator's greater concience. After nearly turning against his own Brotherhood, he was brought back to his senses by several of his Scribes, and the Warrior after a fierce battle to penetrate the Vault 0 defenses. The Calculator, with Barnaky's now dominant personality over it, became a full part of the "Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel". From here, Paladins with the help of Calculator robots would bring a complete end to the raiders and Gammorin's threat to the regions between the Rocky Mountains and Lake Michigan. Agriculture, technology and infrustructure were reintroduced to the new Brotherhood's lands.

Barnaky however, stuck to old prejudices. Immediately after his control of the Calculator, he assumed a pro-Prime human mentality. All mutations were immediately discharged from Brotherhood ranks, marked, and either put into work camps or executed, crucified and made examples of. A new faction arose in these lands in the dawn of the 23rd Century. The Mutant Liberation Army. As the guerilla movement grew, public executions became more prevelant, leading to more guerilla violence. The MLA was pushed out into regions West of the Rockies, beyond Barnaky's control outside of Cheyenne Mountain.

Barnaky's fascistic dictatorship began to grow, a new history of the BoS emerged, this BoS would not revere Roger Maxson and to the adherents of the MWBoS, Barnaky was all they knew and they would instead revere their cybernetic leader.

The MLA finally disappeared in the decades before the rise of Caesar's Legion. The Legion slowly grew west and south of the Rockies. After the Legion's defeat at the First Battle of Hoover Dam, it expanded east, and moved near MWBoS territory in Denver. The city was assimilated by the Legion.

In 2277, the great Battle of Colorado Springs commenced, this would be the first major campaign led by Legate Lanius. Due to the continuing storms and guerilla conflicts further east, Brotherhood forces were stretched thin. The Legion attacked the areas around Vault 0, Barnaky's brain had long since been removed and placed into a pod in Bunker Alpha to the far east. Caesar took great pride in this victory, defeating a technology obsessed faction with his own Legion only fed his ego and founding idealogies.

What proved to be an ironic situation for both sides, is that they both practiced crucifixion on conquered foes. It wasn't uncommon to find MWBoS men crucified along the stretches of the old I-35 and Legionaries crucified alongside mutants along Brotherhood military routes. Caesar however, found a particular interest in a few MWBoS scribes his Legion had captured, and the information that he got out of them.

The MWBoS was eventually pushed out of Colorado, with a large number of casualties inflicted on the Legion, but still held a firm grip over the lands to the east....
