Fall of Western Civilization

Okay, after a combination of reading 50 Years, playing Fallout 3, watching Jericho and eating very little over the past days has lead me to attempt something very odd.

A collaborative timeline about the fall of Western Civilization. So anybody who wants to help just post here.

Starting on April 15th 2010.

April 15th, 2010: Tax day, many right wingers in America, many more then the previous year start so called "tea parties" to protest President Obama's tax policy. In Texas particularly the protests are strong. The Governor even threatens to secede from the union, but unlike the previous year it is a serious threat.

Read Huntington's Clash of Civilisations.

Even if it is a load of old hat.

So what, 500 people show up per city as opposed to 300?

April 16th, 2010: Governor of Texas impeached by state legislature, arrested by Texas Rangers. Lt. Governor wonders why his old boss ended his career over a return to Bill Clinton's tax policy.

Can you give me a link? By the way, my earlier suggestion about Texas was stupid, (I don't think we need a psychologist to say that Perry is insane). So I will start a new one of these in future history and this one is dead.

Id like on on this

(Russia wank here I come!:D)

Ahem... but Russia is part of the West...

Also, I find the whole concept of a "fall" of Western Civilization a mix of scaremongering and paranoia - in particular if you look at the late Samuel Huntington and his "Clash of civilizations" crap. The most problematic part that I actually see about this is that by today, the West is more of an ubiquitous global phenomenon then a separate civilization. I find that very hard to wipe out, really.
