The downfall of the Tang can generally be partially recorded to the Anshi Rebellion OTL 755. Anshi a quite sucessful military leader of the Tang of half Turkish descent lead a somewhat sucessful coup, untill he was killed by his own son.

This is a MAJOR turning point in Chinese history. It generally helped lead to the degradation of possibly China's most sucessful Hyperpower.

Now, first off, has this been done before on the forum?

Otherwise I am proposing that Anshi was killed shortly before he could rebel. What implications could this hold for the Tang? Would be somewhat hard to do a timeline, without utterly spinning off, maybe.

Otherwise I can see a Strong Pan-Central Asian Empire of China with Intellectual, Populous, Military, Economic, and Multi-Cultural superiority to any kingdom in the world to last much longer.
