Failed muslim conquest of Spain

What if the Moors fail in conquering Spain?

Depends exactly how - but it way well mean Charles Martel gets less kudos, which impacts the Carolingians.

Strong Christian West - it could well lead to Visigothic invasions of Africa in retaliation. Potentially the failure could impact Muslim control in Africa, with Visigothic and Christian Berber alliances throwing rule into chaos and having a Christian Berber state establish itself.

I'd love to see a PoD that involves John, Count of Ceuta - effectively a different history that leads to a good relationship with the Visigoths, who could assist with a defence of the city, and counter the Muslims in Africa. Could see a Christian Spain, and Christian Berber Morocco.

I think you are getting too ahead of yourself, at this time Iberia was disunited, that is why they were unable to stop the Muslims. If they invade Morocco they are gonna have to deal with the Caliphate, the world superpower at the time, there is no way they are gonna keep their gains. Charles Martel barely beat them while overextended(they had 3 times his army). Also the north african barbers assisted their invasion so a Christian North Africa is unlikely, I wonder where the Umayyads will go when they are deposesed
