Extradition in the later 1930s

Was there a country where a rich British murderer could have fled to and been safe from extradition?

No need to be so specific, you can locate a country with a similar relationship with the UK. a few years ago for example... remember where fled the responsible for the great train robbery... and ready.
 
In 39 there will be plenty of places the problem is (with hindsight) to then avoid WWII hanging you anyway :eek:.

I would suggest you look at south America as the only safe place one of them must not have had a working treaty in 30s ?
 
Wealthy men can always buy annonimity.
The wealthier the bad guy, and the poorer the local ruler, the easier the transaction.

Even today, Chinese white collar criminals are hiding in Vancouver. Canadian courts are reluctant to extradite them because they know that criminals face the death penalty in China.These wealthy white-collar criminals can afford enough lawyers to delay their extradition (back to mainland China) for 5 or 10 or more years.
