Hi all, I'm looking for some advice on expanding a WWIII scenario I'm working on.

The basic premise is that in 1987 most of the people who organized the 1991 Coup in the USSR in OTL realize that they're sinking fast and decide to throw the dice on a conventional invasion of several of their neighbors (to loot them for wealth).

IDP is June 1987, with the hardliners being triggered by the announcement of Glasnost and Perestroika.

Things proceed more or less the same as OTL until May of 1989, when conventional warfare begins in Europe and Korea (the de-facto leaders of the USSR have persuaded an aging Kim Il-Sung that this is the right time to unify Korea).

What I'm looking for is a way to draw China and India into the fray, preferably with China on the USSR's side (yeah, I know that makes it harder) or at least opposed to the US/NATO/ROK side.

Questions, comments, and suggestions welcome. Timeline so far will follow.
