Examples of alternate history of Sub-Saharan Africa and Pan-America

Hello.

My knowledge about History is limited. Africa is a large continent and it has many civilizations. It is too much to study. As for Pan-America, I know nothing about the civilizations other than Incans, Mayans and Aztecs.
A map of ethnic groups does not help, because it has too much groups.

I would like to see some examples of alternate history of Sub-Saharan Africa or Pan-America.
How would Africa or Pan-America be in the present if they had not been invaded?
What native empires and powers would rise in these continents?
Or if the rest of the world had stopped in the Middle Ages.

Who am I?
I am a hobbyist that only studied History many years ago in the normal school.
Nowadays I rely on Wikipedia to learn what I need about History.
Since my childhood, I like to play with maps. I used to play with imaginary wars in the maps. I used to create empires and their expansion. I also like to redraw maps of the world and some countries and redefine territories. Hence, I started to play with alternate history and to create modified worlds.

By Africa "not being invaded", are you referring to the 19th century European colonialism?

If you want to learn about indigenous civilizations of the Americas before European contact, check out Charles Mann's book 1491. It should be available at your library, and even if it isn't, it should be easy to find (or buy for your e-reader).

One other important American Indian group you may want to consider is the Guarani, although they did not build a civilization on the scale of the other groups you mentioned. Even today, more Paraguayans speak Guarani than Spanish.

Many civilizations in Mexico were older than the Aztecs, including the Olmec and Toltec.
