The French would approach Margaret, who is now 26 and rejected the King of France, Charles VI's so that Margaret would marry the Duke of Berry, however, the King of Navarre who wanted to regain the position of France were in better position to get Margaret as the Bride for Charles of Navarre to get the throne of France as well as his ancestral possessions of Champagne and Burgundy
Margaret of Flanders is betrothed to Charles, the future King of Navarre who is 11-12 years her junior on the early part of 1376 which would strengthen the case of the King of Navarre against Charles V of France in the succession of France.
On 1376, Joanna I of Naples marries Maria, the heiress of Sicily b. 1364 to her son, Louis of Naples b. 1364, to unite Sicily and Naples into one.
