EVERY MAN IS A KING
CHAPTER ONE

It is September 8 1935. Huey long is at the state capitol. At 9:20 AM, Carl Weiss would approach long, where he would then draw his gun at him. However his guard would soon spot the gun. While most of the guards rush at him, One of the guards would shoot at carl, severely injuring him. Long would attempt to duck under the desk.

"Sir are you okay?" said one of the guard

"Holy shit what the hell happen?!" Exclaimed long

"Sir it's alright, the assassin has been captured" said another guard.

"Christ... check out the building, see if there are any other assains in the building," he said.

"Sir are you sure..."

"Damn it just leave me alone!*sigh* I need to lie down."

"Look, men, Huey just survive an assassination, leave him alone. The guard telling the other guard who asked.

Huey would sigh and then leave the room. He would be escorted by his guard to prevent further attacks. The state capitol is next closed down for investigation. One September 12 Carl Weiss is put on trial in Shreveport, Louisiana. Weiss would be charged with first degree. Weiss would be later executed on October 27 1935. His body is later cremated

Following the incident, Huey's popularity would rise. As the economy would stay the slump it was, many begin to listen to Huey long "Every man is a king" slogan. Huey's popularity would increasingly rise.
October 29, 1935. 2 Days after the execution of Weiss.
"Come in Come in"
"Good day Mr.long. Have you seen the newspaper" The senator would walk in the room where he would sit down
"No. Why?" asked Long.
The senator would then show Huey an article from the New Orleans newspaper. The newspaper states: "Assassin executed" "The men who attempted to kill senator Huey long has been recently been executed for first-degree murder, Assassination attempt and possession of a firearm."
"Ah that what I like to see. No one commits a crime and gets away with it in Louisiana. My Louisiana."Exclaimed long.
"Ah yes, but that not the reason why I'm here" said the senator.
"What is it?"
"Well uhh, There have been rumours that Judge Leander has, uh, been involved in illegal oil sale."
"Impossible, he's a trusted judge."
"Were not sure yet but we need an investigation to see if he's in any illegal activity." The senator said, placing his fist on Huey's desk.
" Your right. Like I say no crime gets away. But let's just do an investigation, before we fire the gun too quick"
"Uh yes, sir" The senator would then leave the room.

Please, please, please do two things...straighten out LSU before the scandals begin and go after Leander Perez for stealing from the people of Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes!!!!

first off, I'd have Huey have a sort of "Come to Jesus" moment...not becoming a holy roller, but realizing that his conduct is screwing over the people of Louisiana...he needs to chill out for a year or two (or three) and quietly work in the Senate...would like to see him as a member of a committee dealing with transportation, he could work on a project to turn US 61 into a prototype superhighway from New Orleans to Chicago; think I-55 further west in Mississippi and pretty much following the route to Memphis and then through Arkansas to St. Louis and onto Chicago

then he needs to have a quiet conversation with J. Edgar Hoover and turn the g-men loose in Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes...I'd love to see Leander in Angola for a LONG time!!!! (although he'd probably end up in Leavenworth as Angola is a state prison)

the other thing I'd like to see is to explain Huey from the viewpoint of someone from Louisiana...I really think too many people think All the King's Men is the be-all/end-all on Huey when it's actually a Greek tragedy with live oaks!!!
