Even More Evil Nazis

WI the Third Reich formally declared that "Jews are not human beings, and they shall not be considered persons for any legal or moral purpose?"

I would guess the POD might be early in the Reich, when the pretense of "legality" still existed in the government, maybe as an adjunct to the infamous Nuremberg Laws.

One can argue this was already de facto the case, but making it de jure greatly introduces the possibility of greater extremes, such as:

1) Passports are not issued to non-human creatures, preventing the escape of many Jews before 1939.

2) Eating Jews is no longer considered cannibalism. Rounding up Jews for slaughter for Aryan dinner tables becomes a real possibility. (Though I would guess another killing mechanism than cyanide would have to be used. Would cyanide affect the meat?)

3) Would the international community accept the German position that "Jews are not people" as a valid exercise of national sovereignty? Perhaps this keeps outside groups from trying to help the Jews in any way, such as taking in those who manage to escape.

Hopefully all the surrounding nations can no longer pretend Germany is being run as a normal nation and steps in...

Hopefully the majority of people in Germans - even those who voted NDSAP think this is beyond the pale...

Hopefully Hitler gets a 9mm enema....

If this happens BEFORE the WWII, Jews would be welcome in EVERY other place of the world. Germany would be horribly unpopular with such a move.
Even Italy and probably Japan would refrain to ally with her. if proprerly informed, the Arabs in Palestine will be probably do nothing to avoid the German Jews at least coming, try to work out a politcal compromise (excluding a jewish state in any case). If this happens during the war, i see little short-term consequence. Perhaps more people in Occupied Europe aiding Jews.
In general, is this as move that could only make the Nazis more unpopular overall.

Listen the nazis were the most evil people evil and brought humanity to into its darkest period during OTL is it really necessary to try and work out how they could be more evil

Wierd in a Drakaesque sort of way. My useless drivel:

1) Passports are not issued to non-human creatures, preventing the escape of many Jews before 1939. Actually this might help get Jews out of the country because they could be considered a trade commodity or export by German authorities. Instead of having to wade thru red tape to get visas for immigrants, well meaning German and foreign interests could arrange to ship Jews abroad in the same manner as horses or cattle. The problem would arise because potential host countries would still consider them immigrants or aliens, I suppose. In effect, they might be turned away because they were people

2) Eating Jews is no longer considered cannibalism. Rounding up Jews for slaughter for Aryan dinner tables becomes a real possibility. (Though I would guess another killing mechanism than cyanide would have to be used. Would cyanide affect the meat?) Yuk. I don't buy this. Just because the Nazis say Jews aren't legally people, normal Germans still would see them as people at a gut level. An aversion to cannibalism is just too strongly engrained in western culture to permit this. It would lead to the overthrow of the Nazi regime in short order.

3) Would the international community accept the German position that "Jews are not people" as a valid exercise of national sovereignty? Perhaps this keeps outside groups from trying to help the Jews in any way, such as taking in those who manage to escape. First, in 1933-39, there really was no concept of "the international community" as the term is understood today, nor of enforceable "human rights" outside of the legal codes of sovereign nations. I suspect all national governments would consider this an unfortunate, but legal, exercise of Nazi Germany's right to handle its internal affairs. It certainly would not be considered a juistification for military intervention in Germany or the like. It would probably lead to many nations agreeing to waive their immigration quotas. Also, it wouldn't affect the ability of NGOs (another anachronistic term) or wealthy individuals to try to save Jews, nor would it affect the "human" standing of Jews outside Germany. As mentioned above, it might actuallyhave been simpler to get Jews out of Germany if they legally weren't "people"

Just because it's legal to eat something doesn't mean people will. I could see Jews being put into outright chattel slavery though.

And this explains why are so few positive timelines/uthopias here.

MORE BETTER TIMELINES!!!

Well, a utopia is by definition impossible to attain, and it's usually an ideological paradise that nobody but a fringe group would find pleasurable anyway. As for positive timelines, I'm sure there are some here (I suggest B_Munro, he has a few that aren't completely ASB). And besides, when faced with worse timelines and dystopias **shamelessly points to signature**, think about it this way: at least you don't live there!

The only way that I can think of for the Nazis to treat the Jews even worse is to dispense with niceity of gas and march them straight into the ovens.
