Europeans Keep Slavery in their Colonies until 20th Century

Suppose the abolition movement fails in Europe and survives until even the late stages of imperialism. If I recall correctly, Britain was still profiting from the slave trade, and only ended it for moral reasons. Perhaps slaver interests win in Parliament. Eventually, the "Scramble for Africa" involves competition over controlling the best slave routes on the African continent.

(Ignore the USA, its development happening as OTL.)

Would slavery's continued survival in the Caribbean, Africa, and (to a lesser extent) Asia affect the world in a major way?

Massively so. Oman's likely to be wealthy enough to be an independent agent and minor power in the alt scramble in this sort of case for example.

?

Why?....Americas road to abolition happened because of what was happening in other countries as well...if the European powers refrain from abolition, then America will likly do so too, or at least the abolition movement would lose any civil war that might take place

But surely slavery in the colonies did persist into the 20th century? Think of the Belgian Congo, or indeed modern sweatshops.
