European Taiwan

The Wikipedia already pointed out that the Spanish and Americans settled regions 2 and 3 with ilocanos and tagalogs in 18th to 20th centuries.
I have none regarding the famine, many of the sources have been put down now.

You can't trust Wikipedia for everything, please give us actual secondary sources to understand this. Give us titles of books and articles, names of authors who have written these articles, that we too may understand more of Filipino history, enough to actually understand this period.

I know a historian who knows that..although I will not disclose.

That is why I put wikipedia as a source because they also cite the sources as well.

Is it possible for Taiwan to be conquered by a European power in the late 17th century or early 18th century. Perhaps, a reinvigorated Spain could do it or maybe a France which maintains its strong navy past the Nine Years' War.
if France manages to get Japan involved in the Sino-French war, as they historically tried to do then you might see the French take Taiwan in 1885. It's a century later than you're asking about, but it's the easiest way for the Island to end up in French hands.
