Suppose that the French Revolution is butterflied in its early stages, either by Louis XVI compromising on key points early on, or by him simply never calling the Estates-General. Things never get close to a Republic, and just make a step or two towards constitutional monarchy at the most.
What are the short and mid-term effects on European politics without a French Revolution? How would Republican and Enlightenment ideals develop without a French Revolution? Would you have a later (wave of) revolution(s) elsewhere due to the same underlying issues, or would more reform-oriented mechanisms take effect to gradually democratize Europe without Revolutionary France's example? Or something else?
Are there any timelines which cover this possibility in depth? I imagine any TL that covers the late 18th century could easily be a "no French Revolution" timeline, since butterflies could prevent anything particularly close to OTL's French Revolution from happening.
