European Holdings in Africa 2009

I was bored so I made a little alternate map of Africa in 2009.

colonialafrica2009wank.png

The Map supposes several things:
No ww1 or ww2
Increased European Investment and Settlement to the Colonies
A Federated British Empire
Reduced Racism allowed for the acceptance of some African Colonies to integrate with the home country proper.
Decolonization slower due to no Soviet Union and an Isolationist America.

Suppose you've done or are doing a timeline for this. Like to see just exactly how this map has come about. :)

Why does Belgium end up with the costal region of Congo? Does that make sence economicly, isnt the interesting part Katanga and isn't the Congo river the logistic that makes sence?

Why is Cabinda independent but the rest of Angola retained isn't it where most of the oil is so it would make more sense for the Portuguese to retain it rather than the rest of the colony.

Why the Canary Islands are no spanish? Anyway I see more porbable some european osutpost like Ceuta and Melilla (say, french Oran, italian Tripoli or belgian Leopoldville /Kinsasa than complete terriotories. This said, i'm waiting for your timeline.

I don't think the French holdings in Central Africa make much sense. Assimilating Morocco and Tunisia make more sense. Also Italian and French control of the Horn seems odd.
