European-American Conflict 1903?

IOTL there was a blockade of Venezuela in 1903 by Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The United States eventually decided that as long as no physical land was taken by the foreign powers, they would not consider it a violation of the Monroe Doctrine. IIRC only Germany wanted to actually take land which the United States eventually talked them out of doing.

What if it came to a war? What kind of situation could be derived wherein some other countries join Germany in the war against the United States and Venezuela? The United Kingdom could have reasons (IMO) to go for either side or just sit out. Italy I'm not sure on. The Dutch would have their own conflict with Venezuela in 1908 - if we could move some of those inciting incidents up in the timeline then we could potentially get them involved as well. Finally perhaps if it looks like a dog pile is developing perhaps Spain could get involved as well for a chance to regain Cuba which it had lost only five years pre-POD?

Bumping this as my other thread about a conflict in 1895 between just UK and US (once again over Venezuela) has seen most people saying that a war between the two countries is unlikely as the British cannot penetrate the CONUS. Would a more international coalition (Germany, Italy, UK, Spain, Netherlands) be more formidable for the United States.

Especially when we remember that the focus is on Venezuela, not the United States so fighting would mostly be restricted to Venezuelan waters (where presumably the US Navy would lose). Perhaps as a bunch of sore losers the USA could invade Canada as a response? Or would we just see a very protracted Atlantic Naval War?

Why would there be an international coalition against the US in 1903? At this point the US is the world's largest economy, but the UK is a strong second, and a far greater military power. It wasn't until after WW2 that having all of Western Europe join together to balance against the US could be plausible.

My slightly convoluted scenario is Germany involves itself with Spain in a effort to gain empire by proxy. ie: business investment, royal marriage, immigration, ect...

All that could drive the Spanish American War in 'interesting' directions.

I see little chance of any of the European powers being crazy enough to dare to take on the US in their own backyard. The only nation capable of doing so, the UK, would have little to gain and much to lose.

For the sake of argument, lets assume the 1903-crisis turns into war after some idiot of a German admiral tries to seize a Venezuelan port. Teddy Roosevelt wouldn't stand for such a violation of the Monroe-treaty and would threaten war (or perhaps declare it outright). The small Geman fleet would be annihilated or make a run for a neutral port and be interned. I doubt the Germans would risk sending their fleet to the carribean, nor would the Americans send theirs to the north sea. I guess we would see commerce raiding along both sides, a battle in Samoa and alot of indignant shouting between both before Britain mediates a white peace.
