EU III Multiplayer Game Sign-Up Thread

Metaserver?

Pretty sure that's what it's called. You click multiplayer, and if metaserver isn't an option, it should say "internet game" or something along those lines.

No Game Tomorrow, however, if you are free tomorrow, let me know. I need some people to help me check that my host is working correctly (that is, I need to figure this hosting thing out). And then we can play afterwards of course. Still though, if you can host, say so. Hopefully my connection isn't that bad.

I think it's at 9pm GMT. Yelnoc messaged me and said he had a ball game to go to first and that he'd only just remembered about it.

EDIT: Basketball to be precise.

Alright, so BriefMortal agreed to host. We will doing direct connect through IP, rather than messing with the metaserver. I will PM you a reminder with the IP before next Saturday. The first game is next Saturday, the 28th, at 9pm GMT (4pm EST).

I updated the OP with the players list. We have 13 people signed up, which will make for a good game, though we still have room for more. Looking down the list, we have to conflicts for first preferences. Blomma and Evandakewlgui both first preferenced Naples, while Axeman and The Historian both first preferenced France. If you guys could work out who gets what before the game so that we can go right ahead and launch, that would be great. :)

I am ok with Milan, then.

I'll go Burgundy, Axeman can have Switzerland.

Uhhh...what?

Isn't the whole point of preferences to go by who signed up first and use the order of preference to default disputes. You know, the entire point of listing 3 nations?

At any rate I will be France and he can be Burgundy. If this is TRULY unacceptable because nobody wants World War I in Europe circa 1410, I will be Manchu on the condition that nobody else is France.

Oh right, are there are any house rules we're using? Stuff like "no selling provinces to random Europeans to get a border for westernization"

If I can still join..

GMT-4 Ottomans, Poland, Castille.

I assume we're playing the GC?

Welcome, I'll add you. What does GC stand for?

Awesome, added.

If we were going to go by whoever posts first, I don't know why we would have bothered with preferences. You're both adults, or close enough; you can work it out. You as France and him as Burgundy would make for fun gameplay, though.

I want this game to be as free-form as possible, so let's keep the rules simple. If anybody wants to add anything, let me know before Saturday and I will think about updating The Rules (I added them to the OP).

What is the ip? this is my first multiplayer EUIII so i have no idea what im doing

BriefMortal is hosting, so either him or myself will send out a PM on Saturday to all signed-up members containing the IP.

Grand Campaign, which you mentioned in the OP, so yeah.

And now I'll have to figure out how chat work sin multiplayer. Is there a guide somewhere or something?

Well, time to go play a few dozen hours and get back in practice!

It's fairly straight forward once in game. You can choose between sending messages to everyone, to enemies, to allies etc, or manually click on all nations' crests you want to send it to.
