Ethiopia In world war 1 (with the allies)

So I have participated in this year's MUN of my school and the committee I have joined is European Conglomerate. The committee is set during World War 1. The committee does not follow the actual timeline or war. The date is the 27th of June, 1914. Representatives from the major powers in Europe and the leaders of various Balkan nations have gathered in an undisclosed location in the midst of rising tensions in order to discuss two things: who gets to control the Balkans, and who gets to colonize which parts of Africa and the far East.
I am planning to side with The British, as Ethiopia was surrounded by British colonies. If I decide to help the British, how would Ethiopia do it and what would they ask in Return. Would it be right if I ask for land in the African continent or help them bring down German East Africa as a way of distracting the Germans from the European front?
Suggest me what I should do. Any piece of information or advice would be helpful.
Thank you.

Well I guess with six years of Model UN (both organising and participating) I might as well help.

Assuming the objective is to grab as much land as possible, the only real reasonable areas for expansion would be Somaliland (Italian especially, although French and British too) and Eritrea (in Italian hands). Assuming that Italy joins the Entente as they did historically, you'll have to try and get British endorsement of a transfer in favour of British endorsement of Italian claims elsewhere (especially in Dalmatia). TBH you'll probably have to cut a deal with the Brits to get this, whether its support for maintaining order/defending their East African possessions; and/or contributing troops to the Western Front a la the French colonial Tirailleurs. Helping with the defense of African possessions is probably better. Von Lettow-Vorbeck is a formidable opponent, but they don't know that yet, and Abyssinian troops have a better chance against relatively lightly-armed and poorly-equipped German askaris than against modern heavy artillery, trenches and machine gun nests which they'll have to deal with in Europe. Of course a labour corps can always be provided as porters and coolies, but I doubt that will give you as much leverage to make a significant post-war land grab.
