Ethiopia and the rest of Christendom

Here's something to pinder: In a scenario in which the Crusaders take Egypt and re-establish relations with Ethiopia, how might the communal ties with the Copts develope for the Catholics? Before we jump on the "they'd burn the heretics," remember that the Latins were perfectly capable of maitaining civil relations with the Armenians and Maronites.

Considering the particular Catholics? I'd expect an introduction of Crusading to Ethiopia - and as a result attempts to expand south and east led by Crusaders - Ethiopian, European, or otherwise.

Although, I wouldn't put it past a King to accept union with the Pope in Rome (especially if Alexandria is Catholic) in exchange for money and a Crusade to strengthen the 'Horn of Christendom' :p
