"He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war anymore."

Isaiah 2:4

INAUGURAL ADDRESS

The Inaugural Platform
20 January 1969 - 12:16 PM

“Senator Dirksen, Mr. Chief Justice, Mr. Vice President,
President Johnson, Vice President Humphrey, my fellow Americans -
and my fellow citizens of the world community.”

For the first time,
because the people of the world want peace,
and the leaders of the world are afraid of war,
the times are on the side of peace.

The greatest honor history can bestow is the title of peacemaker."

I know America's youth.
I believe in them.

We can be proud that they are better educated,
more committed, more passionately driven by conscience

Mr. Kissinger/ The President
February 23rd, 1969 8:45 p.m.

K: Mr. President.

P: We cannot tolerate one more of these without hitting back.
We're going to crack the hell out of them.
You understand what I mean?

K: Yes, I do.

P: I want a plan where every goddamn thing that can fly
goes into Cambodia and hits every target that is open.

K: Right.

P: That's to be done tomorrow. Tomorrow. Is that clear?

K: Yes, Mr. President.

P: And no comment, no warnings, no complaints, no protests.
None of this gets out to the press.

K: Of course.

P: I mean it, not one thing to be said to anyone publicly or
privately without my prior approval.
