Someone has done this before, but the thread was quite old, so I decided to do a new one.

So basicly, as the title says, what effects would a soviet victory have on the environment? On one hand, the eastern bloc industry did quite a lot of damage to the environment (look at lake Aral or the pollution of air in industrial cities for example). On the other hand, a socialist nation can change to sustainable energy much faster than a capitalist one (the party just has to decide it, while in capitalism, you have to wait untill every big company has switched on their own).

On the backround scenario, lets just say, that the USA collapses in the early 80s, due to a longer Vietnam war and more civil unrest, combined with racial tensions and an economic crissis. Texas, Alaska, Hawai and California seceed, as they feel exploited by the central government. The rump US adopts isolationism again, and all of western europe, and east asia fall to communism.

Also, lets say that the Soviet Union avoids Perestroika and Glasnost.
