English-Catalan-Basque Kingdom

English-Catalan-Basque Kingdom
Could the Kingdom of England or Angevin Empire be a English-Catalan-Basque Kingdom after the loss of Anjou and Normandy?

And what would a Catalan influenced english would look like?

Thats a rather large, tenuously connected nation. Given the eventual fate of the Angevin empire, probably falls apart after a generation or three of personal union.

Calling Gascony "Catalan-Basque" is like calling England Cornish...
Not quite, it's like calling England 'Frisian', perhaps. Gascony was definitely Langue d'Oc, although an idiosyncratic variant. Catalan and Occitan are considered by some to be the same language.... so 'Catalan' is ... sort of, vaguely, defensible. Highly misleading, though.

It would be the all times evilest Axis of Evil. If it includes Andorra, it would even worse.

Well the Kingdom of England is certainly going to have substantial Romance-speaking population within its borders.

I was referring to the way that the very southern part of Gascony has a substantial ethnic Basque element (though subdued in the present day) but I think we're reading off the same page here.

Why, out of sheer morbid curiosity, does the presence of Andorra within the Anglosphere make it worse?

Oh, anything with Andorra within it would be worse.

Seriously, I have nothing agaisnt Andorra, except they are a tax haven and Andorra la Vella is not exactly the place of my dreams. It was only a bad joke.

No problem. I didn't intend my comment to seem so serious. I was just sufficiently taken aback that I simply had to know the answer

I take it that you mean a state comprising England and Gascony/Aquitaine? Hmm, thats two distinct and extremely separated components, whose ability to support each other is minimal. I see two possible fates for it:

1) Gascony has minimal cultural influence on England (and vice versa), and is eventually conquered by France

2) Gascony manages to survive French attempts to take it, and eventually separates from England (I can see an English king giving it to his second or third son-Gascony and England are so far apart its hard to rule one from the other).
