End of main Stuart Line and further PODs

How would the Commonwealth of England fair if the 'main' Stuart line died out? Also there's another POD needed I think to keep the Commonwealth.

These are the scenarios for this:

  • Obviously Charles I is beheaded in 1649 as per OTL.
  • Along with William II, Prince of Orange, Mary princess Royal caught smallpox and dies days after her husband did in 1650. Thus the OTL William III wasn't born and died, Frederick Louis becomes Louis II, Prince of Orange.
  • Obviously Princess Elizabeth dies in 1650 as in OTL also.
  • Then in 1651, Charles II, instead of leaving James Stanley's main party actually stays with them. Thus he is routed by the parliamentarian soldiers and held prisoner and beheaded along with Derby.
  • Later in 1658 in the Battle of the Dunes James II is killed by a stray bullet from a Commonwealth soldiers musket hits him, it goes deep and soon after James dies.
  • Minor POD: Charles Fleetwood is chosen as the new Lord Protector, while Richard simply becomes the Chancellor of Oxford.

So what do you think? With no real leader other than a bunch of Germans (the people who in OTL had no real power or didn't seem to care.)

Btw if you want to you can ignore the POD and just pay attention to the 'end of the Stuarts' if you want to, I can understand if you don't have much interest in a Republic.
