End of Crucifixion without Christianity

I'm pretty sure Constantine banned crucixion out of respect for his new religion. The practice went away in the west, but not so much in the east. ISIS and Wahabi governments such as Saudi Arabia still crucify. Is there any way to end this method of execution without changing the cross from a symbol of shame and into one of piety?
yeah all its going to take is for a number of Governments to be persuaded that there is a more humane method of execution, and in other cases Governments will need to be persuaded that there are less humane methods of execution. Such as slow slicing

For real? I mean, I know about public beheading, public beating, public.....but crucify like back in Rome?

I don't believe that there is a a continous history if crucifixication unless I see solied proof. It was a practice used by special units of the Roman Empire, and really abandonded.
I am pretty shure, anything called crucifixion nowadays is a horrible practice reinvented.

And no, I don't want to see pictures.

Saudi Arabia does not use crucifixion as a means of execution. They do display remains of executed criminals in public, and this practice has been confused with crucifixion as was practiced in Roman times. The public display of human remains after death is, in my opinion, an indignity which deserves condemnation.
