Emperor of the West: A Story of the Glorious Plot

Unknown-2.jpeg

Aaron Burr raised the flag of the colonies over the Red River. Supposedly part of the Louisiana Purchase, what would come next would have enormous repercussions in the American continent.
He had literally seized the entire southern Louisiana purchase for himself. Although, he still claimed the pretense of being loyal to the United States. He had already done several actions to consolidate his rule. Much of the militia was being organized into what was basically a small professional army, and several tribes in the Area were being left alone if they fought for him. Planters started to move in, as well officers started to assist in create the militia.
Washington
In the new Capital of the nation, Thomas Jefferson did not approve. Aaron Burr literally was now an outlaw! Thus it was only right if an arrest warrant be made, and him to be tried for treason. Thomas Jefferson suspected foreign powers of playing a part in this conspiracy. Thus 5000 troops were sent to arrest Burr, such a lame miser would not even resist, he thought. William Henry Harrison would command the detachment.
Disaster at New Orleans
Right when approaching Burr's realm, several "Indian Savages" as written in one soldiers memoirs started harassing Harrison's command. Thus a pursuit of sorts of launched. Then several numbers of Burr's milita on the side ambushed Harrisons men. He was unable to react fast enough. Within only 30 minutes, half of his command was annihilated. Thus he surrendered, in a humiliating gesture. Thus is became known as the "Disaster At New Orleans."1.
Fallback
In a supposed act of grand mercy, "the warmongers" under Harrison were given fair treatment, however Burr used it as a pretext to take supreme control. He declared himself "Dictator of Louisiana." His logic for this is, democracy had led the United States into utmost failure and debauchery, wasn't a constitutional Autocracy the solution? An advisory panel was put into effect to show his enlightened nature. He had written a document declaring independence. While this was occurring, a storm was brewing in washington. Despite the very lucky victory in louisiana2, he knew he could not count on it next time. Thus relations with European powers were considered. The sparsely populated land needed more emigration too. Thus it was seen as time to beat the traitors in their own art. 3.
1, its not exactly New Orleans, but close and over simplified, leading false assumptions that the battle took palace in a city.
2. Very, very lucky, numbers were not on their side and an ambush won it.
3. Doublespeak there, to the Lousianian Empire, it would be taught in schools that the United States were the "true traitors."
