Emperor belisarius, what if?

If he ever gets to the throne, how would he have defeated the enemies of the eastern Roman empire?

I’m thinking of doing a timeline on this, so any information would be appreciated.

When would he get the throne? Because ascending to the throne when he was still young could probably mean no war in the West, or maybe he would better than Justinian in preserving peace with Persia. If he ascend when Justinian was ill or when he was dealing with the Goths in Italy, than he would be forced to fight the Persian and the Goths at the same time and on the Danubian provinces. His diplomatic relations with the populations and kingdoms outside the empire would probably be different to the OTL ones and this mean he would have to face different enemies and have different allies.

It might be interesting if Justinian's plan for retaking Italy involved making Belisarius his co-emperor in the west. Belisarius being the Caesar and himself being Augustus.

Say he does this right after Belisarius has secured Rome. Doing so butterflies the incident where the ostrogoths offer him the crown and he takes it as a ruse

Belisarius was a general, not a leader. While it seems like Theodora and Justinian's eunuch court were nasty enough to make Justinian suspicious of Belisarius, I don't think that he really had it in him. He couldn't win over the loyalty of soldiers in Italy from the honest-to-god eunuch Narses after all, a man with literally no balls. I think that Belisarius stands little chance of inspiring enough confidence from Justinian to become Caesar, and especially of summoning up the gusto to seize the empire for himself.
