This requires two PODs that I think wouldn't have any effect on each other.
1. Diego Rodriguez, El Cid's son, does not die at the battle and Consuegra in 1097. This would mean that El Cid has a make heir upon his eventual death.
2. El Cid does not get struck by the arrow that leads to his death on July 10, 1099. He continues to rule Valencia for another decade or so. (maybe producing more heirs but this is unlikely at this point)
So, how would El Cid's continued living affect the history of Spain? I'm not that familiar with Spanish history of this era, but I'm interested to know the consequences of Rodrigo de Vivar beginning a dynasty as ruler of Valencia.
