He'd be president in time for the Hungarian Revolution, the Cuban Revolution and the Suez Crisis. He was a more of a Machiavellian than Eisenhower and would probably be more aggressive.

I admit I don't know much about the domestic politics of the time and I really only understand the basics of most of that era. It just popped into my head and I'd like to see what more knowledgable people would think.
