Egyptian Gaza, Beersheba, Ma'an, and Hijaz

While reading on the history of Beersheba and Gaza, I found that Gaza was more culturally and economically tied to Egypt in the 19th Century and that there was a well-trafficked trade corridor running from Gaza to Beersheba to Ma'an.

My question is, what if Egypt secured control over southern Palestine (Gaza and Beersheba), Ma'an, and by extension the Hijaz?

They got it already in 1833. But lost it.

With Egypt, the region is more likely to develop.
