Say some time in the 1970s, Switzerland experiences a communist revolution (doesn't matter how) leading to the revolutionaries (at least temporarily) seizing both the Swiss Treasury and the major banks in Geneva and Zurich (Marxist expropriation by the book).

Now, apart from the politicial/military reaction by NATO, what effects would such actions have on the global financial market?
As this was the beginning of the age of Fiat Currency and given the dominance of Swiss banking at the time, I think it could be apocalyptic for the global financial markets, but what do you think?

Well that is problem. But it can be sorted out. If it is FIAT currency reserves they seize or bonds they could declared null and void ala Philippines central bank in WW2, but they could respect obligation to outer-world and avoid mess. But if they size B I S then they would in lots of Problems sizing "Central bank for central bank" with its almost like sovereignty it is big no no...
