Effects Of Delayed American Independence

Here's a straightforward question. What would be the effects of a delayed American independence? How would it affect the history of the continent and the world at large?

Good question...

Without the independence of the Thirteen Colonies... What could inspire the other American colonies held by Spain, Portugal or France to attempt Independence?

In fact, does this scenario means the colonist lose to Britain, or that the rebellion either never ignites or is stopped through diplomatic channels and compromise? Depending on the answer, we may see the French Revolution changed significantly.

I can think of three scenarios.

  1. Changes in earlier events cause the revolution to happen later. If it happens after 1820 the new American nation is Slavery-free.
  2. The Americans lose the American revolution. They then get independence via either Dominion deal like Canada or another revolution.
  3. The Americans find a peaceful compromise with Britain. This might lead to the future revolutions being less Republican and more in favor of constitutional monarchy.
