26 February 1936 saw an attempted coup in Japan by radical officers who wanted a military dictatorship. In OTL some of the participants were killed, but many other prominent officials were implicated and forced to retire. Suppose the incident leads to greater loss of prestige and more executions of 'Kodoha' or pro-expansionist sympathizers - what impact will this have on Japan in World War II? Should it reach higher into the secret societies like the Kokuhonsha and Sakurakai groups (supposing someone linked to all of the above like Sadao Araki talks specifically under orders of the Emperor), what happens?
