Effects of a much earlier Dred Scott equivalent?

Let's say in 1806, a Kentuckian took his slave across the Ohio river into the relatively new state of Ohio and stayed for a while. By 1810, you have the equivalent of the Dred Scott decision coming from the Supreme Court.

Ideas?

I'm not sure what would happen without the legal background, especially the Compromise and the influence of Jacksonian politics, but I'm intrigued and challenged and am going to look it up

I think the outcome of such a case might be different.

As a consequence of the Cotton boom and fear of rebellions Southern interests had pushed a rather extreme view on slavery nd race by the 1850s

I think things might have been a bit different in 1810.
