Operational Plan Three is a great POD. It would start a German-American War with a Peral Harbor style attack against the US Eastern seaboard and subsequent invasion of the continental USA. It also came very close to happening due to the foolish German Kaiser Wilhelm II, who came very close to ordering the attack. So easy POD: He orders the in some attack around, say 1899-1906. Many in the German military establishment supported the plan, wanting an expansion of the German military. And many in the German government wanted American colonies. Also, the Kaiser thought it would be an easy war, and that 100,000 troops could be sent to capture Boston and Long Island, and the USA would surrender after New York is bombarded. Obviously, this is idiotic. Germany would have lost the war, unable to supply an arm invading a huge nation thousands of miles across the ocean with a considerable Navy. Loses will be huge. 100,000 soldiers, or at least a considerable number, will be captured as POW, which Germany will have to negotiate for, which will probably involve war reparations. A humiliation for Germany.

So my question is, what happens after Germany loses this war? The Kaiser and more importantly, German militarism will have been discredited. Could this lead to a more liberal, Parliament dominated Germany? How would this new Germany fair in European politics of the time?

On the other hand, the USA, having fought a war on her own soil, will see the benefit of a Navy as well as standing army. So obviously, we'll see more American militarism, and perhaps colonialism? Also, IOTL, the Civil Rights movement spawned from many African American soldiers who foguth for the USA wanting more equality for the nation they fought for. After this major ground war, could the Civil Rights movement start earlier than OTL?

Finally, World War One. How will this change WW1? Will there be a WW1 at all if Germany becomes far less militarist? How will the tech developments of this war effect WW1?
