Effectiveness of Defence Scheme No.1 in a War Plan Red scenario

War Plan Red

Defence Scheme No. 1

As the thread titles suggests : How effective would Defence Scheme No. 1 be vs. War Plan Red?

It should be assumed that Canada has some inkling of an impending invasion.

Time frame : 1930-38

Am sure it's been asked before but I could not find any resent thread relating to this topic or either of the warfare strategiums mentioned earlier in this thread, so I thought that I would find out what peoples general consensus on this topic would be.

( Also WTF Fact : The wikipedia page on Defence Scheme No. 1 is only avaliable in Engish and Norwegian (Bokmål) ......)

I have hard time seeing a POD that make the UK/British Empire and USA go to war between 1930 and 1938.

I would need that before speculating.

For the sake of argument, let's say America has a Depression/ASB-inspired Communist coup in 1932 and Britain elects Oswald Mosley, so they hate each other.

Yes- the Canadian Army was quite pathetic in those days: they didn't raise a real standing Army until after WWI, though King deserves credit for forming the RCAF in 1922. IIRC the UK had a much stronger military than the US quantity-wise, and probably quality-wise as well.

The US will be invading with what army again?

Only a few months before Pearl Harbor the commander for the US West Coast received a report of a Japanese landing(!) and mobilized his forces. After the first peace time draft a year earlier and the first mobilization of US industry he reported that four battalions were on the way or in reserve and he had six functioning tanks available.
