Effect of no 30 Years War on Mecklenburg and Pommerania?

In OTL these two areas lost 50-70% of their population in the war, what would have happen to them both political and demographic if the war was avoided?

No idea about Mecklenburg, but if there is no 30 Years War would Sweden still get part of Pomerania when the ducal line goes extinct? I remember that a daughter of the last duke was married to a Catholic general of the Habsburgs armies, someone from the house of Croy who died during the war. Could he get it, or we would have a war of succession over Pomerania?

No Sweden wouldn't get it, likely Denmark would annex it, or it would go to one of Christian IV sons. Unless the General convert, there's no way it would be premitted to fall in the hand of a papist, and Sweden have no dynatic link to the Duchy, while Denmark do.

But IIRC Brandenburg had the better claim. Of course, I dont think at the time Brandenburg could stand up to Denmark, though I also dont think Denmark could land a decisive victory, so partition again it is, I think...

Good point Denmark may let Brandenburg get the entire fief through, Brandenburg was a Danish ally.

Here, I found her:Anna de Croy was the sister of the last Duke of Pomerania, married with Ernst von Croy. Although Ernst was a Catholic, their marriage contract stated that their children should be raised as Protestants. They even had a son, Ernst Bogislaw von Croy, who was a Lutheran bishop.

The last duke of Pomerania, Bogislav XIV., has declared repeatedly that
he sees the elector of Brandenburg entitled to inherit Pomerania from him.
He still did so when his country was effectively Swedish.

But seriously, "no 30-years war" raises a lot of questions how
religious conflicts and power rivalries are dealt with.
The fate of so central a country as Pomerania will certainly depend on what's
going on otherwise.

Pomerania was by far not alone with that rate of population loss.
And it was 50-70% of not so much as in other places.
