Edward VI survives and produces heirs...Tudor line continues.

What would be the result of Edward VI of England surviving well into Adulthood and producing 3 surviving sons as heirs? How would this differ from the Political and Religious turmoils, O/T of not just England, but Ireland, Scotland, France etc?

Well, both of his sisters reign would be butterflied. Perhaps no armada. Edward might wed Elizabeth away and poor Mary perhaps can wed some noble.

For Elizabeth, I'd say the most likely candidates are either Frederick II of Denmark-Norway, or Eric XIV of Sweden. Of the two, Denmark was still the dominant power, but Sweden proved the more powerful on the battlefield, yet they were unable to keep most of their conquests.

As for Mary, I reckon Edward would try and keep her isolated until she dies of whatever killed her IOTL. In terms of her marriage, I personally think her best chance would have been with Philip of Palatine-Neuburg.

For Edward VI, I think he would take more of an interest in Continental affairs, in particular the Huguenots, Protestant Navarre and any Dutch revolt that might spring up. Whether the decision is wise or not, if the Dutch offer a crown to Edward as they did Elizabeth IOTL, I think Edward would be more tempted/likely to accept it.

I think Elizabeth would have made a exellent queen of Denmark. Poor Mary, but perhaps Edward would treat her better if he had heirs of his own body?

Well, Edward did initially treat her well. She was his godmother and he genuinely liked her, back when it was hoped he might convert to Catholicism. That would be an interesting POD all on its' own.

Perhaps afterwards. And my girl does deserve some happiness. It would be funny if Mary ends up with a surprise baby and names her daughter Catherine, for her late mother.

But if Edward has heirs, he's no reason NOT to wed her to someone - but she'll only take a Catholic - so, she might just do what was proposed before her mother died - go to the continent. Charles V will find her a titled husband, if only to show what a sorry SOB Edward is toward his (and probably blame E6's religion for his cruelty to Mary quite publicly.)

It would be funny if Mary goes to wed Luis of Beja and manages to pop out a healthy infante who becomes king of Portugal after Sebastian I's death!

Maybe. Henry VIII tried to marry her off to Luis, provided Mary renounce her place in the English succession, which I'm sure she would never do. Even if she does, maybe it could have been part of a deal, like the one that led to the Bourbon inheritance of Spain.

At this point I just want Mary to have some love with a caring husband and if she saves Portugal in the process then even better. Maybe she can have surprise twins: Infante Manuel and Infanta Catarina of Portugal!

I would read the shit out of any TL that has a happy Mary Tudor period!

plus in that TL you can thread the otherwise questionable needle of Edward's legitimacy and Mary's legitimacy since his mother was wed to Henry after Catherine passed on. Elizabeth is in a bad spot though
