So, this is a thought that's been running through my head recently, well actually two thoughts.
Firstly, if the future Edward III as Prince of Wales had died before his father was removed from the throne in 1327, what would've happened? Would his mother and Mortimer have used his younger brother John as their proxy for the invasion? Or would Edward II have kept his second son closer to home? And in either case, who would John have married?
Secondly, if Edward II had refused to surrender and be judged by Parliament, would have been defeated in battle and forced from the throne that way?
