Economy of a Surviving Kerensky Republic

Let me adjust that- Kerensky doesn't have to be in power. I just mean the Government itself.
Well the Provisional Government was, you know, provisional; so by "the government", you pretty have to mean the promised Constituent Assembly (getting to Tom_B's point). Now, you could have a TL where the PG governs until the CA comes to power, wherein Kerensky would no longer be in charge; maybe, maybe you can create subsequent events where our little nutter can make a political comeback sometime in the future. But that's the best he's getting.

Russia existing would certainly screw Wilson in Versailles over Poland. If Poland existed, He would have to deal with a much smaller one (which, if he was just going over ethnically Polish areas anyway, it should've been.)

The Russian revolutionaries supported an independent Poland, but it would have been one they hoped would stay tied to Russia. So giving it lots of Germany seems like a great solution for that...

I didn't say the USSR avoided the Depression, but it insulated itself far better than most other countries.

The Soviet Union's main export was grain. The commodities crash of the Depression, at a time it was desperately trying to industrialize, was devastating.

2.4% real growth per annum isn't breakneck, A-H was growing even faster.

Okay, a couple thoughts. First, I'm going to ask for a cite for the claim that Russia was growing less rapidly than Austria. Second, Second, I think comparing Russia to China really doesn't support "Russia is doomed to be backwards..."

Will dig up more on the Russian economy tomorrow if I can, but I think you are being too pessimistic..

It occurs to me we have an example of an unstable Republic emerging after the Great War that might serve as a good model: Poland.

Why would Russia do worse than Poland?

Good question. Poland didn't have quite the internal unrest Russia had though.
