Eastern Battle of the Bulge

We all know that Hitler threw his last remaining resources against the American and English allies in France in the Winter of 44'. What happens if Hitler decides to throw his last remaining supplies and calls a massive counter offensive in the late summer of 44' against the Soviets who were in the process of destroying the Germans in Operation Bagration.

What becomes of the status of the Eastern Front?

Does German Army Group Centre Survive?

How do the Western allies take advantage of a weak Western Front?

Does Patton win the race to Berlin?

Is this completley improbable thus resulting in the inevitable member telling me to move this to ASB when I have not the ability nor desire?

You know, Hitler actually tried. After VI Panzer Army stopped it Bulge push (it run out of supplies, but did not lose much in terms of men or equipment), it had been loaded into trains and sent to Hungary (aka Tanker's Paradise) to fight advancing Russians off. Did some mischief there too, but had been reduced to smoldering remains in less than two weeks, if my memory serves me well.

So, to answer your original question, "nothing" would be the correct answer to your WI.

Hitler doesn't have the forces from the Battle of the Bulge available in summer of 1944. It took him several months to scrape up those last divisions.

Let's just say that somehow he pulls it off, we all know he's screwed and his offensive will only delay the inevitable. Would this maybe at the very least keep the Soviets out of Berlin first?

I have a hard time seeing how an unexpected, if futile, German counterattack in the East expidites the fall of Berlin.

They are destroyed. Stalins generals were ruthless, unlike the overcasutions western allies they will pass up this golden opportunity.

Does German Army Group Centre Survive?
Only if it withdraws.

Does Patton win the race to Berlin?
No, western overcaution and eastern resolve will ensure he never get´s a chance.
