East Berlin was an enclave.

Let’s imagine that Berlin was in the west part of Germany.
This results in east Berlin being surrounded by west Germany when Germany is partitioned. What effect would this have on the Cold War?

Otherwise the East/West germany border is the same.

I actually had that in one of my TL. Western allies capture all of Germany and worsening Cold War leaves soviet with east Berlin (actually only 1/3 of city) as enclave.

Surely it makes more sense to have the German capital in western Germany instead of the city of Berlin- perhaps idk the Carolingian empire has a bigger place in German nationalism and upon German unification, the Prussians move the capital to Aachen.

Aachen is almost on the frontier with Belgium and the Netherlands.
I see Frankfurt being a more likely capital during the unification.
