East Asian societies after the arrival of the Europeans

In the 1500's, once europeans began having direct contact with east Asian societies, what sort of effects did this have on those societies?

For example, what cultural influences crept in?

What technology exchanges took place?

In general, what changed in east Asian society and why?

Bonus points if you can talk to me about how the Chinese of the 1500's would perceive European history, particularly ancient Greece.

In Japan, Firearms technology(tanegashima matchlock), shipbuilding, and spread of Christianity. Japan is greatly affected by europeans because of during that time they having instability (warring states period).

Christianity also spread quite successfully in China by Jesuit.

contact with Spain also introduce China to american silver, corn, sweet potato and potato. (according to charles c mann 1493 book)

The Chinese got rich selling silk, porcelain, and other finery to Europeans too...

How might this event have impacted someone personally in say, China. Lets say I'm a trader who operates in the South China Sea, what changes for me?

Did the Europeans not use those mighty ships to combat piracy?

How might a man such as this perceive Europeans, what would an a stage Chinese person think of someone from Portugal?
